Year 10 Japanese - full year

Course Description

This is a course counts as two of your four option selections

For students who are interested in learning more about Japanese. Language topics and skills are integrated with cultural studies. The course builds on the introductory course of Year 9 and extends listening, speaking, reading and writing skills. Hiragana will be mastered, if not already, and the Katakana alphabet will be taught during the course. Topics covered include:

  • school life for students
  • family and home life
  • the body clothing, sports, describing people
  • Katakana alphabet
  • food and drink, ordering in a restaurant, cooking, and eating with chopsticks


 


Recommended Prior Learning

Year 9 Japanese (or equivalent with prior consultation with the Teacher-in-Charge)

Assessment Information

Students have two opportunities during the year to complete summative assessments for each of the course objectives:

Criterion A: Listening
Criterion B: Reading
Criterion C: Speaking
Criterion D: Writing
