Course Description

Recommended Prior Learning

*Only those who have already studied Level 2 MPA will be assessed at Levels 3 or 4.

Co-requisites: Level 1 Te Reo Māori, Level 1 Te Ao Haka     



This is a mainly practical course which focuses on extending knowledge and skills in the four key areas of Māori performing arts: Haka, Waiata, Poi and Waiata-ā-ringa.

Mōteatea: E Koro Pāroa, Tērā koia, Ka tiro noa
Waiata ā ringa: Terina, Ka noho au, E ngā tini mate
3.1 Personal learning journey in a discipline of Te Ao Haka

Term 2
Haka: Te Pūru, Tau ka tau, Takatakahia
3.1 continued.

Term 3
Key roles of Te Ao Haka.
3.2 and 3.3 performances.

Completing 3.1
