Level 3 Chemistry

Course Description

This course builds upon the fundamentals learned in Level 2 Chemistry. It is an examination-focused course, designed to prepare students to follow Chemistry into their tertiary study.

Recommended Prior Learning

Minimum 12 credits in Chemistry.

Assessment Information

The Organic Chemistry topic will encompass some learning that would normally be taught in Year 12, because most students will not have completed the full Organic Chemistry achievement standard last year. Instead, they attempted the 91388 Spectroscopy internal assessment. Those students who did not pass this assessment in Year 12 will have the opportunity to attempt it again in Year 13. This will require additional time and study outside of class.
