Level 1 Design and CAD Technology
Teacher in Charge: Mr R. Ringwood
This course is an introduction into CAD, designing and working with wood-based projects. The first project is skill based where the student will follow set procedures, learning a variety of hand skills to produce a finished product. The second unit introduces the students to CAD (Computer Aided Design using SolidWorks) and gives them an opportunity to design (with CAD if they want) and make something in wood for a take home project.
Recommended Prior Learning
A strong desire to utilise technological and theory knowledge as well as skills in a workshop environment and to create designs that display creativity and inventiveness.
Contributions and Equipment/Stationery
Contribution by prior arrangement towards larger projects with take home value may be required. Covered shoes are Compulsory for practical sessions. Access to a computer at home will be required for One Note and CAD assignments.
