Course Description

This course should be considered as part one of a two-year course in Chemistry. It focuses on preparing students with the fundamental skills that they will need for Level 3 Chemistry and beyond.

Recommended Prior Learning

Minimum of 16 credits in any Level 1 Science subject.

Assessment Information

An introduction to Organic Chemistry will be taught. It will focus on structures, naming and functional groups. The associated assessment will be the 91388 Spectroscopy internal assessment. The 91165 Organic Compound external assessment will be optional, and additional study will be required outside of class in preparation for this examination.
