Level 1 Te Reo Māori - Te Ao Haka
Course Description
Teacher in Charge: Mr W. Hippolite.
Te Reo Māori covers the four core language skills of Tuhituhi (writing), Pānui (comprehension), Whakarongo (aural), and Kōrero (oral). Te Ao Haka introduces students to the world of Haka and investigates the key elements of performance.
Course Overview
Term 1
Revision of Te Reo Māori Curriculum Levels 5 and 6. Beginning Tuhinga and Whakarongo assessment mahi.
Term 2
Curriculum Level 7 of Te Reo Māori. Complete first Tuhinga and Whakarongo assessment tasks.
Term 3
Revising Curriculum Levels 5 - 7. Completing the second assessment tasks for Tuhinga and Whakarongo.
Term 4
Preparing for external assessments.
Recommended Prior Learning
Year 9 & full year of Year 10 Te Reo Māori (or equivalent).
