Recommended Prior LearningRecommended Prior Learning: Satisfactory results in Year 10 English and teacher’s recommendation.
All Year 11 students are required to study English. Students will be guided by teacher recommendation for English Communication Literacy or ESOL courses. Otherwise, they will choose from either English Multimedia or English Literature.
An English course assessing Level 1 Achievement Standards which covers a range of different media, including film, commentary, and language. Students will investigate the form and purpose of language in these mediums as well as the concepts of genre and audience.

Sports commentary and language in context.
Presentation for internal assessment.
Term 2
Novel and film study.
Essay writing.
Term 3
Writing skills and writing internal assessment.
Term 4
Preparation for external exam.
Assessment Information
While this course covers three of the four Achievement Standards available, all skills are covered in this course.
