This is a guided senior English course. This course develops skills in using language and covers a range of texts. There is a provision within this course to modify the Achievement Standards completed based on individual student’s UE requirements including extension through the exchange or supplementation of A.S. 91479 - Develop an informed understanding of literature and/or language using critical texts. All assessments are internally assessed.
Term 1
Explore what it means to critically evaluate and apply this to the close viewing of documentary and its codes and conventions.
Write a selection of pieces for a writing portfolio beginning with column writing.
Term 2
Explore theory and how we can apply this to a text and read it with this in mind.
Portfolio writing this term will include report writing.
Term 3
Create an oral text of your preference and present ideas for a podcast, presentation, or speech.
Term 4
Consolidation and final submissions of course work if required.
