Course Description

This course aims to provide learning experiences for all students in a wide range of fundamental physical activities at Year 9. There is a strong focus on the 4 strands of the Health and Physical Education Curriculum: personal health and development, self management,  movement concepts and motor skills, relationships with other people, and healthy communities and environments.  This is the first of a 2 year junior physical education programme aimed at Levels 4 and 5 of the Physical Education Curriculum.  

The course also caters for students/athletes who are looking to develop their skills/ talents towards our Nelson College Sports Athletic Development Programs ( ADP's ) later in the school year as well as being selected for the Y10 and Senior ADP programs available to our athletes in the future.
