Health Education at Nelson College aims to provide students with the necessary skills, knowledge and attitudes to make informed decisions that will contribute positively to their personal well-being, the well-being of other people and that of society as a whole.
Students will look at how the 4 areas of wellbeing: physical, mental/emotional, social and spiritual can be impacted and maintained.
This is the first year of a two year programme and leads to Year 10 Health.
This course is aimed at developing skills necessary for a healthy lifestyle. Emphasis will be on: self-image, mental health, supporting others, communication and conflict, friendship, sexuality, nutrition and active lifestyles.
