Year 11
- Year 11 students study SIX full year subjects, three compulsory and three options
- Compulsory subjects: English (please select an English course) or ESOL. The decision on which Mathematics and Science course is appropriate will be confirmed by Head of Facility's, based on Year 10 results and teacher recommendations
- Select ONE ENGLISH OPTION and THREE Options plus ONE Alternative subject as a backup (in case of a subject clash)
Year 12
- Year 12 students study SIX full year subjects, one compulsory and five options
- One literacy-rich subject is compulsory, and students must select from the following:
- English Literature (Approved for UE Literacy)
- Te Reo Māori (Approved for UE Literacy)
- Drama (Approved for UE Literacy)
- History (Approved for UE Literacy)
- Media (Approved for UE Literacy)
- English Language (Approved for UE Literacy)
- English Communication (Not Approved for UE Literacy)
- ESOL (Not Approved for UE Literacy)
Please be aware that many tertiary courses require students to have University Entrance (UE) Literacy, this is 5 UE Writing Credits and 5 UE Reading credits. Please select your course carefully to ensure you are keeping all possible pathways open.
- Select FIVE Options plus ONE Alternative subject as a backup (in case of a subject clash)
Year 13
- Year 13 students study FIVE full year subjects
- Select FIVE Options plus ONE Alternative subject as a backup (in case of a subject clash)
- Permission to select a minimum of four courses requires a discussion with your Dean
Note: Some courses may not run due to lack of numbers. Your Dean will contact you if this affects your selected options of if you have a clash.
